ISP AQUA PURE SYSTEM has been developed from non-hazardous inorganic sulfide compounds manufactured in the USA. It consists of irregularly shaped particles which specifically targets heavy metals in liquids.
The Sulfide reacts with the metals as they come into contact, forming an insoluble solid which adheres to the irregular surface of the Aqua Pure System.
ISP AQUA PURE SYSTEM is the next step in applying sulfide technology to environmental problems such as industrial waste water, and runoff water from remediation areas; problems not readily addressed by mechanical mixing of media. The primary active ingredient in ISP AQUA PURE SYSTEM is calcium sulfide, which bonds with metals to form insoluble sulfides. The reactions typically require relatively small quantities of treatment chemicals due to the high reaction efficiency.
The problems with runoff with Abrasive Blasting and such as the wide areas to treat them persistence of water movement, are handled simply and efficiently using ISP HydroCat Robotic System or Portable Containment for Hand Lancing. The dispense water is moved through ISP Patent-Pending Dispensed Water Filtration System then through ISP Aqua Pure System. This allows for a less invasive “in-situ” treatment which drastically reduces treatment costs by alleviating the need for transportation and costly disposal.
Metal laden liquids are treated by allowing the water to pass through the ISP Aqua Pure System which provides solid surfaces for metals to interact and react to form sulfides.
A principal characteristic of ISP Aqua Pure System is a high reaction efficiency, which translates to requiring much less product than other reagents to accomplish the identical task. ISP Aqua Pure System takes advantage of the natural affinity of the charged metal ions to react with its own neutrally charged ion to form a metal sulfide. In forming this insoluble compound, the reaction produces solids that precipitate out of the liquid.
These solids may be then filtered out of the dispense water, rendering the treated water non-hazardous and ready to be discharged. This form of a metal is also insoluble under the test conditions imposed by the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure, c;>r TCLP, in which simulates the acidic conditions found in most municipal landfills. In many cases, the filtered solids may be disposed of without further treatment. As waste water passes through the layers of rock inside a specially designed multi-chambered box that prevents channeling, the smart rocks chemically interact with the heavy metal contaminants, converting them into non-leachable sulfide, substantially reducing sludge generation and waste. Water can usually be drained into a sewer or drain or even to the level of recycling back into our system. This filtering process is affordable and easy to use.
